The local authorities in Souihla, a district within the Marrakech province, have officially announced the commencement of candidacy applications for the position of President of the Souihla Community Council. This announcement comes in the wake of the passing of the former president, Abdelkader Baabi.
According to available data, this initiative is based on the provincial decision number 1619, issued on May 4, 2026, which acknowledged the late president's discontinuation from performing his duties. Additionally, a communication from the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region regarding this matter has been referenced.
The opening of candidacy aligns with the provisions of the Organic Law number 113.14, which pertains to local communities. The application submission period has been set for five consecutive days, starting from May 5 to May 9, 2026. Applications will be accepted daily from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM.
The relevant authorities have called upon all current members of the Souihla Community Council to submit their nominations within the specified timeframe, by depositing their applications at the Territorial Communities Department in the Wilaya of Marrakech-Safi, in accordance with the applicable legal procedures.
