In a significant demonstration of local authorities' commitment to supporting socially impactful projects, the Governor of the Marrakech-Safi region, along with the Prefect of Marrakech, conducted a field visit to the "Doum for Women" cooperative on Friday, April 10. This visit was part of a broader agenda that included a meeting of the regional human development committee.
This initiative comes on the heels of the approval of a series of new developmental projects and the signing of partnership agreements aimed at enhancing human capital and supporting vulnerable groups, all within the framework of the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH).
During this field visit, the Governor toured various facilities of the cooperative, observing the workflow and the working conditions of the beneficiaries. Approximately 450 women are involved in this project, which has enabled them to achieve genuine economic integration and improve their income levels in a conducive working environment.
The "Doum for Women" cooperative stands as a successful model for income-generating projects, embodying a practical approach to women's economic empowerment and strengthening their presence in the local economic fabric.
In this context, the Governor emphasized the importance of continuing support for such initiatives, highlighting their role in creating job opportunities and fostering sustainable local development. He urged for the expansion of partnerships and intensified efforts to ensure the longevity of this positive dynamic.
This field visit underscores the regional authorities' determination to monitor projects on the ground, ensuring their effectiveness and enhancing their social and economic impact for the targeted groups.
