Lowi's New Roaming Offers for Travelers
Lowi, a subsidiary of Vodafone Spain, has recently introduced new roaming packages designed to provide lower rates for mobile data usage in popular tourist destinations such as Andorra, the United States, and Morocco. Recognizing that these locations are frequently visited by Spanish travelers, Lowi aims to offer its customers a more economical alternative to the typically exorbitant roaming fees associated with international mobile data use. The company now allows users to purchase data packages at prices significantly lower than the usual roaming costs in these regions.
Roaming refers to the ability to use mobile data outside of one’s home country—in this case, Spain. By law, telecom companies are required to provide free roaming within the European Economic Area (EEA), but once outside this zone, prices can skyrocket, potentially leading to substantial financial burdens for users. To mitigate this issue, Lowi has rolled out packages specifically for three of the most frequented travel destinations from Spain.
Available Roaming Packages and Management
Lowi has detailed the various roaming packages available and their associated prices, making it easier for travelers to manage their connectivity needs ahead of time. Customers can conveniently tailor their data usage according to the duration of their trip through the Mi Lowi app, which is compatible with both Android and iPhone devices. This proactive approach empowers users to control their mobile data expenses while enjoying their travels.
In providing this solution for roaming in non-EEA countries, Lowi joins the ranks of many other telecom providers, most of which do not inherently include free data roaming for regions outside the EEA. Notably, Movistar offers roaming services in the United Kingdom, while Vodafone—Lowi's parent company—provides roaming in the UK as well as in the United States under certain plans. Additionally, Vodafone also includes free roaming in other countries like Turkey and Switzerland, making it an attractive option for international travelers.
