Police Successfully Apprehend Mastermind Behind Acid Attack in Marrakech
In a swift and significant development that has brought relief to the public, the police of Marrakech, in close coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance and the police in the city of Martil, have arrested the principal suspect behind a horrific acid attack that resulted in the death of an entrepreneur from the town of Chmaâla. This operation took place on Thursday, July 16, 2026, following extensive investigations that pinpointed the suspect's hideout after he fled Marrakech immediately after committing the crime using a corrosive substance known as "acid water".
The apprehension of the main instigator in Martil came after a series of thorough field investigations that meticulously tracked his movements. The investigations revealed shocking details about the background and motives behind this heinous crime. It was revealed that the arrested suspect had previously been a business partner of the victim. Their relationship had soured due to significant financial disputes related to past business dealings, which served as the direct motivation for the suspect to seek revenge.

The first is the mastermind and instigator (the former business partner), who was arrested in Martil. The second is the individual who directly executed the attack, while the third was responsible for driving the motorcycle that facilitated the perpetrator's escape from the crime scene. It is noteworthy that both the executor and his accomplice had been apprehended in Marrakech on July 13.
