Major Crackdown on Illegal Fireworks in Agadir: 40,020 Units Seized

Significant Police Operation Leads to Seizure of Fireworks

On June 18, 2026, law enforcement officials in Agadir, in collaboration with their counterparts in Taroudant, successfully conducted a major operation that culminated in the seizure of an astounding 40,020 units of illegal fireworks and firecrackers. This operation was made possible by critical intelligence provided by the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance, which enabled the police to act decisively against the illegal distribution of these highly flammable materials. During this coordinated effort, three individuals were arrested, suspected of being involved in the trafficking of these dangerous goods.

The police undertook two simultaneous operations in both Agadir and Taroudant, resulting in the apprehension of two suspects caught in the act of possessing and distributing fireworks. Upon their arrest, authorities uncovered a staggering 3,420 units of these hazardous materials in their possession. This initial success paved the way for further investigations, which ultimately led to the identification and arrest of the main supplier operating in the rural area of "Tamsiest" near Ait Melloul.

Subsequent searches revealed an additional 36,600 units of fireworks, alongside a significant amount of cash believed to be the proceeds from these illegal activities. The suspects are now undergoing judicial investigations under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor, with a focus on uncovering the full scope of this case and detailing all criminal activities attributed to those involved.
