Significant Drug Trafficking Operation in Agadir
On the evening of August 19, 2026, law enforcement officers from the Agadir police prefecture, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in the possession and trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances. The first suspect was caught red-handed while in possession of psychotropic pills intended for sale. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect believed to be complicit in this criminal activity.
The police operation resulted in the seizure of an impressive quantity of illicit substances, including 5,700 units of the psychotropic medication known as “Rivotril,” along with 390 grams of cannabis resin (commonly referred to as chira). In addition, authorities confiscated quantities of cocaine and a substance known as “Boufa.” The searches conducted during this operation also uncovered electronic scales, two knives, and a sum of money suspected to be derived from these illegal activities.
Both suspects have been placed under judicial investigation, overseen by the relevant prosecutorial authority, to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding this case, including any potential links to additional accomplices or participants. This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of Moroccan authorities to combat drug trafficking and ensure public safety.
