Major Drug Bust in Marrakech: Over 17,000 Pills Seized and Four Arrested

On Monday, the judicial police in Marrakech, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, successfully executed a significant operation leading to the seizure of 17,586 narcotic pills. This operation also resulted in the arrest of four individuals aged between 20 and 40 years, who are suspected of involvement in drug possession and trafficking.

According to a security source, the operation was carried out in various neighborhoods across Marrakech, where the suspects were caught in the act of possessing and distributing drugs. The subsequent search and seizure operation uncovered a staggering total of 17,586 medical narcotic pills of various types, in addition to two vehicles believed to have been used to facilitate this criminal activity.

The same source revealed that checks conducted on the suspects against the national police database indicated that one of them is the subject of multiple national search warrants for suspected involvement in similar drug trafficking cases. This points to a broader network potentially linked to the current investigation.

Furthermore, the suspects have been subjected to judicial questioning under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, with the aim of uncovering any further extensions of this criminal activity and apprehending other potential accomplices involved in these illegal acts.
