Significant Arrests in Drug Trafficking Case

On the evening of Friday, August 14, law enforcement officials from the Judicial Police in Marrakech, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance, successfully apprehended a man and a woman, aged 23 and 41, respectively, on suspicion of their involvement in a case concerning the possession and trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances. The female suspect was arrested in the coastal city of Essaouira shortly after she arrived on a passenger bus. Upon her arrest, authorities discovered a staggering quantity of illegal drugs in her possession, including 3,690 ecstasy pills, 11 kilograms of hashish, as well as 120 grams of cocaine.

The ongoing investigations and inquiries into this case led to the identification of a second suspect believed to be involved in this criminal activity. This individual was also apprehended in Essaouira, where law enforcement found him in possession of a significant sum of money, believed to be the proceeds from these illicit activities. Both suspects are currently undergoing judicial investigations, which are being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office.
