The Urban Police Department of the first security area in Gueliz has successfully apprehended a prominent suspect involved in the trafficking of hard drugs in Marrakech, known by the nickname "El Tangawi." This operation was executed in the Mabrouka neighborhood and marked a significant victory against drug-related crime in the region.
The suspect was taken into custody following a well-planned sting operation conducted at the "Al-Najd" residence. He was caught in the act, accompanied by two females, and was found with packages of cocaine that were prepared for distribution. This decisive action highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug trafficking in urban areas.
As the investigation deepened, police moved to a flat associated with one of the suspect's acquaintances located on Moulay Abdullah Street. During the search, they uncovered an additional quantity of cocaine, along with an electronic scale commonly used for drug distribution and weighing. This discovery not only reinforces the evidence against the suspects but also sheds light on the operational methods employed by drug traffickers.
Further inquiries led to the primary suspect's residence in the Menara area, where more cocaine was seized, indicating a broader network of drug trafficking that is being meticulously dismantled by authorities.
In coordination with the public prosecutor's office, it has been decided to place the three detained individuals under provisional custody in order to deepen the investigation, uncover other potential accomplices, and identify the sources supplying this drug trafficking network.
