Crackdown on Drug Trafficking in Fez
In a significant operation led by the Anti-Gang Unit of the Fez Security Directorate, authorities successfully dismantled a drug trafficking network linked to the distribution of hashish and cocaine. This operation was executed based on precise intelligence provided by the General Directorate for National Territorial Surveillance (DGST), leading to the apprehension of two suspects caught red-handed with a substantial quantity of illegal substances.
The incident unfolded around 5 PM when law enforcement officials intercepted the suspects, who were traveling in a light vehicle from the outskirts of Taounate, near the Bab Boujloud bus station. Initial searches conducted by the police resulted in the seizure of over 35 kilograms of hashish, which was ready for distribution, alongside an undisclosed amount of cocaine.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing judicial investigation conducted by the local prosecutor's office. This legal inquiry aims to uncover all individuals involved in the case and to determine any further connections to this illicit activity, both nationally and internationally. The authorities are committed to eradicating drug trafficking and ensuring the safety of the community.
