The National Judicial Police Brigade (BNPJ), supported by precise intelligence from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully thwarted a large-scale drug trafficking operation on Friday afternoon. This operation culminated in the discovery of an astounding two tons and 960 kilograms of cannabis resin hidden within an abandoned light vehicle near Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca.
The operation began near Benslimane, where investigators traced a vehicle suspected of transporting hashish. The situation escalated when the driver attempted to evade capture by driving against oncoming traffic on the highway, ultimately abandoning the vehicle on the airport's periphery. Upon inspection, police discovered 75 tightly packed bundles within the cabin, meticulously prepared for clandestine transport, following an intensive pursuit driven by accurate data provided by DGST services.
