Major Human Trafficking Bust in Fes
In a significant operation, the regional judicial police in Fes successfully apprehended twelve individuals suspected of involvement in a serious case of human trafficking. This illicit activity was reportedly facilitated through the exploitation of authority to recruit abandoned minors for prostitution and other criminal activities, including theft, within the "Al-Wafa" charitable institution located in Fes.
According to insider information obtained by "Kood", the public prosecutor ordered the detainment of the twelve suspects for investigation, prompting their presentation before the competent judicial authority to determine the appropriate legal consequences of their actions. The arrested individuals include a current caregiver and a general supervisor at the institution, along with several former directors, a previous warehouse manager, three female facilitators, two educators, two private security guards, and the current president of the associated charity.
Furthermore, it has been reported that six additional individuals will be presented under conditional release. This group comprises a sewing workshop owner, a former director of the institution, a former president of the charity, a national cooperation employee, a facilitator, and a social worker. The investigation remains ongoing under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office, aimed at uncovering all the circumstances surrounding this troubling case and clarifying the responsibilities of all involved parties.
