The case originated from investigations carried out by the regional judicial police in Fes in collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance. These investigations revealed the existence of a network suspected of embezzling and misappropriating public funds and properties stored at the municipal storage facility in Oujda. This involved the illegal smuggling of impounded vehicles and the falsification or dismantling of these vehicles for parts to be sold in scrap markets.
The scope of the investigation extended to the facility's management, involving multiple public employees along with various alleged accomplices. The search operations executed as part of the case resulted in the seizure of ten vehicles, 17 motorcycles, and 38 dismantled vehicle chassis, alongside significant quantities of spare parts and various electronic equipment.
