Marrakech Air Show 2026: A Showcase of Military Aviation
Scheduled to take place from October 7 to 10, 2026, the Marrakech Air Show promises to be a significant event in the aviation calendar, with Lockheed Martin participating as a Platinum Sponsor. This prestigious American aerospace company aims to present a range of defense solutions while fostering collaboration with Moroccan businesses on future military programs. Among the highlights at their exhibit will be a cockpit demonstrator of the F-35 fighter jet, along with displays showcasing the capabilities of this fifth-generation aircraft. Attendees can also expect to see models of the F-35A, F-16, and C-130J Super Hercules.
The event will feature a C-130J from the US Air Force and several F-16s from the Royal Air Forces of Morocco, emphasizing the strong partnership and shared interests between the US and Morocco in military aviation and defense.
Exploring Advanced Defense Systems
The presence of the C-130J is particularly relevant as it highlights the modernization of Morocco's tactical airlift capabilities. Lockheed Martin will also showcase advanced equipment such as the Sniper targeting pod, the Javelin missile, and the HIMARS artillery system. Additionally, models of the PAC-3 MSE interceptors and the ER GMLRS system will be on display.
These sophisticated systems will serve as focal points for discussions surrounding aerial capabilities, precision strikes, as well as air and missile defense. Lockheed Martin plans to delve into topics related to the interconnectivity of platforms, sensors, and command systems, which are central to their "21st Century Security" approach.
This partnership between Lockheed Martin and the Royal Air Forces dates back to 1974 with the delivery of the first C-130H Hercules aircraft. It has since expanded to include the F-16 Block 52, delivered starting in 2011, alongside ongoing support for existing aircraft and industrial development in Morocco.
