Yasmin Bourida Achieves Second Place in National French Reading Contest
Yasmin Bourida, a talented student representing the Marrakech-Safi Regional Academy of Education and Training, has made her mark by securing the second position in the secondary education category of the inaugural National French Reading Competition, known as Cap’Lecture Maroc. Her outstanding achievement positions her as the sole representative from her region among the winners of this prestigious event.
The competition attracted a remarkable number of participants, with a total of 821,342 students from various educational levels, ranging from first-grade primary school to the second year of the baccalaureate program. Yasmin Bourida was one of only 13 students honored across the four categories of the contest, showcasing the high level of participation and commitment to fostering reading skills among Moroccan students.
This initiative, launched by the Ministry of National Education, Preschool, and Sports for the current academic year, is in partnership with the French Development Agency, the French Institute in Morocco, and Éducation France International. It aims to enhance the role of reading within educational institutions, positioning it as a crucial driver for learning and knowledge acquisition. Furthermore, the competition seeks to develop students' reading and linguistic competencies, improve their understanding and analytical skills, and foster critical and creative thinking abilities. These efforts are integral to enhancing the quality of education and encouraging engagement with diverse languages and cultures.
