Marrakech Court Ruling Against Content Creator

In a significant legal development, the Marrakech Primary Court has issued a ruling condemning the well-known content creator, known as "Klamour," to a prison sentence of 10 months and a financial penalty of 500 dirhams. Furthermore, she has been barred from using social media platforms for a period of three years. This decision came after the initial session of her trial on Monday, August 17, 2026, where she was presented before the court while already in custody, having been detained at the local Oudaya prison.

The prosecution's decision to pursue charges against Klamour stemmed from allegations related to content she shared on digital platforms. The actions were legally categorized as a public violation of morality, following the dissemination of video clips and excerpts from a live broadcast that were deemed to contain material contrary to public decency. The authorities took action when she was apprehended at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca while attempting to leave the country, in coordination with security services in Marrakech. This led to her being subjected to judicial investigation and subsequently referred to the public prosecutor's office, which decided to proceed with charges while keeping her in custody.

The ruling from the Marrakech Primary Court reflects the legal consequences of the actions attributed to Klamour, including the imposed prison sentence, the fine, and the prohibition on social media usage for the designated three-year term. This case has sparked discussions about the boundaries of content creation and the responsibilities of social media influencers in Morocco.
