Significant Political Shifts in Marrakech Elections
The preliminary results of the legislative elections in the Marrakech region have unveiled a notable shift in the parliamentary landscape, as approximately 95% of the votes have been counted. The Justice and Development Party (PJD) has emerged prominently, securing three seats, whereas the National Rally of Independents (RNI) has faced a setback, losing three of its own seats in the process.
According to the initial data circulating, the Justice and Development Party has claimed all three parliamentary seats allocated for the Marrakech district, represented by candidates Mohamed Toufla, Munir Al-Warzazi, and Salah Al-Din Ayash. Meanwhile, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has successfully retained its three seats, represented by Tarik Hanich, Fatima Zahra Al-Mansouri, and Sabara. Additionally, the Independence Party also maintained its three seats through representatives Abdel Aziz El-Driouch, Abdel Razak Ahloosh, and Anas Al-Hawaji.
The Marrakech district encompasses three local electoral circles: the city of Marrakech–Sidi Youssef Ben Ali, Gueliz–Nakhil, and Menara, totaling nine seats in the House of Representatives. It is important to note that these findings are still preliminary, pending the completion of vote counting, assembly of reports, and the official announcement of final results by the relevant authorities.
