The arrest occurred when the individual was caught in the act of accepting a sum of money in exchange for providing an administrative document.
The employee's capture followed a report made by a citizen via the public prosecutor's green hotline, where he claimed to have been extorted in order to receive a certificate confirming that there would be no legal appeal against a decision. In response to this complaint, authorities coordinated with the victim to set up an undercover operation. The suspect was lured to a café in the upscale Gueliz neighborhood of Marrakech, where he was subsequently arrested while accepting 2,000 dirhams.
