Enhancing Digital Distribution of Tourism Activities in Marrakech-Safi

In response to the growing importance of distributing tourism experiences and activities in the Marrakech-Safi region, the Regional Tourism Council (CRT) of Marrakech-Safi, in collaboration with the National Tourism Confederation (CNT) and partnered with the Australian giant Rezdy, organized the "Marrakech Tours & Activities Digital Acceleration Workshop." This event was specifically dedicated to operators of activities and providers of tourism experiences, aiming to support the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and activity operators.

Taking place on June 2, 2026, at the Grand Mogador AGDAL Hotel in Marrakech, this workshop brought together tour operators, destination management companies (DMCs), activity providers, and various stakeholders from the regional tourism ecosystem to discuss the challenges associated with the digital distribution of tourism experiences. The workshop greatly benefited from the technical contributions of Rezdy and Repayd, who provided insights into booking systems and payment solutions tailored to the tourism activities sector, allowing beneficiaries to list their offerings on over 200 international distribution platforms.

Adapting to Market Trends and Technological Changes

The workshop featured a structured program focused on analyzing market trends and technological advancements impacting the distribution of tourism experiences. The opening session was led by Mr. Hamid Bentahar, President of the CNT and Chairman of the CRT Marrakech-Safi, followed by a presentation by Rezdy discussing industry trends and market prospects. Participants engaged in discussions covering several key themes, including the evolution of traveler booking behaviors, the increased anticipation of activity purchases, the impact of digital platforms and new visibility channels, the digitization of payment processes, and the optimization of booking systems to enhance operational management for providers.

The discussions underscored the necessity for activity operators to strengthen their digital presence and adapt their tools to align with new distribution strategies. The evolution of digital channels, alongside the transformation of search and booking habits, necessitates a more structured offering and an upskilling of operators regarding technological tools.

Moreover, beyond the technical aspects, the conversations highlighted the need for a more coordinated approach among destination stakeholders to enhance the visibility of experience offerings and improve the coherence of the customer journey. Through this initiative, the CRT Marrakech-Safi reaffirms its commitment to support tourism professionals in their digital transformation, facilitating access to the necessary tools, knowledge, and best practices essential for the evolution of the tourism activities sector.
