Marrakech Hotels Experience Surge in Bookings During Eid al-Adha

Marrakech Hotels Witness Increased Demand During Eid al-Adha

As reported by tourismdailynews.com, Marrakech and its neighboring areas have experienced a significant uptick in hotel bookings and tourist interest coinciding with the Eid al-Adha holiday. This surge is attributed to a large number of Moroccans opting to escape the hustle and bustle of major cities, seeking relaxation and leisure activities amidst the rising temperatures.

According to professional sources, several hotels and resorts in Marrakech, particularly those located near the Sidi Ibrahim Oasis, Ourika Road, and the Agdal area, have reported increased family bookings. This trend includes families traveling from cities such as Casablanca, Rabat, and Tangier, as well as Moroccans living abroad who chose to spend the holiday in their homeland.

This year’s Eid holiday has notably contributed to revitalizing the local economy and tourism sector in the Red City, with a marked increase in demand for rated hotels, guesthouses, and resorts. Additionally, leisure spaces and private pools have also seen considerable crowds, reflecting the growing preference among Moroccan families for vacationing outside their original cities, particularly in response to the sweltering heat prevalent in many regions.

Moreover, several tourist spots close to Marrakech and rural accommodations offering lodging and entertainment services have garnered significant interest from families seeking a short getaway that combines relaxation with nature. Industry experts have noted that hotels have increasingly prepared early for this religious occasion in recent years, offering special packages for families wishing to celebrate Eid in a hotel setting rather than in residential apartments.

Hamid Ben Taher, the President of the National Confederation of Tourism, highlighted that Marrakech hotels experience high occupancy rates during such occasions due to the enticing offers available. He emphasized that hotels in the city are bustling with both Moroccan and foreign visitors during holidays like Eid al-Adha and weekends, although challenges remain during the early week days.

Ben Taher also pointed out the urgent need for relevant authorities to expedite the construction of the exhibition and conference palace, which would facilitate the hosting of large-scale global events amid the rising demand for the city. This development is expected to help hotels secure bookings throughout the week, enhancing the overall tourism landscape in Marrakech.
