Call for Participation in the Atlas Workshops 2026
The Marrakech International Film Festival has officially announced the opening of applications for the Atlas Workshops 2026, a professional program aimed at supporting film projects during their development and post-production stages. This initiative is part of the preparations for the festival's 23rd edition, scheduled to take place from November 20 to 28, 2026.
The Atlas Workshops stand out as one of the most significant initiatives supporting filmmakers in Morocco, the Arab world, and Africa. They provide a professional platform for cinematic project development through artistic guidance and production advice, in addition to promoting networking opportunities with producers, distributors, festival programmers, and international experts. This collaboration enhances the chances of accessing funding, markets, and global festivals for the projects involved.
Since its inception in 2018, the Atlas Workshops have established themselves as a pioneering initiative in supporting new cinematic voices, encouraging co-production, and boosting the presence of Moroccan, Arab, and African cinema on the international stage. The program serves as the professional arm of the festival.
The festival management encourages directors and producers to submit their projects at various stages of completion, whether in development, shooting, or post-production. Participants will benefit from a comprehensive program that includes specialized consulting sessions, mentoring workshops, one-on-one meetings with industry experts, a co-production market, and presentations to production and funding entities. Additionally, there are financial awards available to support the completion of films.
The ninth edition of the Atlas Workshops will be held from November 22 to 26, 2026, coinciding with the activities of the 23rd festival edition. This initiative reflects the festival's ongoing efforts to solidify its position as a regional platform for cinematic project development, talent discovery, and building partnerships that contribute to the future of Arab and African cinema.
