Marrakech Menara Airport Receives Prestigious International Recognition
Marrakech Menara Airport has been awarded the title of Best Regional Airport in Africa for the year 2026 as part of the World Airport Awards. This esteemed recognition was presented to the airport during a ceremony held by the global organization Skytrax in London, coinciding with the PTE World event. This accolade marks the first time Marrakech Menara has received this honor, reflecting the successful implementation of the 'Airports 2030' strategy by the National Airports Office of Morocco.
The strategic plan aims to modernize national infrastructure and enhance operational performance, placing the passenger experience at the heart of development efforts. The award also signifies the collaborative efforts of various partners, including the Ministry of Interior, National Security, Royal Gendarmerie, Customs Administration, and local authorities.
The selection of Marrakech Airport for this prestigious title was based on a comprehensive international survey conducted between August 2025 and February 2026, which assessed passenger satisfaction. Travelers from diverse nationalities praised the quality of service, ease of navigation within the airport, and the efficiency of the services provided.
Since its inception in 1999, the Skytrax Awards have become a global benchmark for excellence in the airport industry, covering evaluations from over 565 airports worldwide. With this achievement, Marrakech Menara Airport solidifies its position as a key gateway to Morocco, enhancing the competitiveness of Moroccan airports on the international stage.
