Marrakech-Menara Airport Sees Over 10% Increase in Passenger Traffic by June 2026

Marrakech-Menara Airport Reports Significant Growth in Passenger Numbers

The Marrakech-Menara International Airport has achieved a remarkable milestone, recording a 10.41% increase in passenger traffic by the end of June 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to the National Airports Office (ONDA), the airport welcomed approximately 5.6 million travelers in the first half of this year, up from 5.1 million the previous year. This growth reflects the ongoing recovery and expansion of the aviation sector in Morocco, particularly in key tourist destinations like Marrakech.

In June 2026 alone, the airport served 843,375 passengers, an increase from 785,641 passengers in June 2025. A closer look at the breakdown of this traffic reveals that international flights accounted for 806,082 travelers, marking a 7.03% increase, while domestic flights saw an impressive rise of 14.66%, with 37,293 passengers. Such figures underscore the airport's vital role as a gateway to the vibrant cultural and historical offerings of the region.

Among the most popular international routes, the Marrakech-Menara to Paris-Orly service topped the list with 73,621 passengers, capturing a market share of 2.66%. This was followed by the Mohammed V to Paris-Orly route with 64,984 passengers (2.34% market share), and the Marrakech-Menara to Paris-CDG route, which recorded 50,909 travelers (1.84% market share). These statistics highlight the strong demand for connections between Morocco and major European cities, reflecting the country's appeal as a travel destination.

The continued growth in passenger traffic at Marrakech-Menara Airport not only demonstrates the resilience of the tourism sector in Morocco but also positions the airport as a key player in the country's economic landscape. Nationally, Moroccan airports collectively recorded a commercial traffic of 18,831,461 passengers by the end of June 2026, representing an 8.83% increase from the previous year. This performance is indicative of a broader trend of recovery in the aviation industry, bolstered by increasing interest in Morocco as a prime tourist destination.
