Marrakech-Menara Airport Sees Significant Passenger Growth
The Marrakech-Menara International Airport has reported a remarkable increase in passenger traffic, achieving a growth rate of 10.41% by the end of June 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the National Airports Office, a total of 5,636,776 passengers utilized the airport during the first six months of this year, an increase from 5,105,518 passengers last year.
In June alone, the airport welcomed 843,375 passengers, a notable rise from the 785,641 passengers recorded in June 2025. This increase in traveler volume reflects the growing demand for air travel to and from the region, with international traffic accounting for 806,082 travelers—a 7.03% increase—while domestic traffic saw an impressive 14.66% surge, totaling 37,293 passengers.
The five major international routes that contributed significantly to the airport's traffic in June include the connections between Marrakech-Menara and Paris-Orly, as well as Casablanca Mohammed V to Paris-Orly, Marrakech-Menara to Paris-CDG, and Casablanca Mohammed V to both Paris-CDG and Jeddah. These routes highlight Marrakech's importance as a key player in international travel, particularly in its connections to major cities.
On a national scale, airports across Morocco recorded a total of 18,831,461 passengers by the end of June 2026, marking an overall increase of 8.83% compared to the same timeframe last year. This upward trend in passenger figures underscores the resilience of the Moroccan aviation sector as it continues to recover and expand in the wake of global travel disruptions.
