Marrakech Photography Meetings Celebrates Contemporary Creation
The Marrakech Photography Meetings invite both the public and media professionals to an extraordinary projection night, marking the conclusion of their sixth edition of the Open Call. This event will take place on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 7 PM, hosted at the Meydene Cultural Center in Marrakech. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore video presentations of all selected series, experiencing a pivotal moment in contemporary photographic creation.
Among the twenty awardees from around twenty countries, notable participants include American Ariana Gomez and the Italian duo Jean-Marc Caimi and Valentina Piccinni. This immersive screening will allow the audience to engage with universal themes explored by these contemporary voices, such as memory, identity, migration, social justice, the climate crisis, faith, and belonging.

The evening will commence at 7 PM with a showcase of finalists, shedding light on the Moroccan diaspora. Attendees can expect to view the visual works of all artists shortlisted for the 2026 call for submissions. At 8:30 PM, the awards ceremony will take place, alongside a focus on Moroccan creation and its diaspora. Among the prominent figures featured in the finalists' showcase are Thami Benkirane, Yzza Slaoui, Sabrina Charehbili, Hiba Baddou, Ali Berrada, Yasmine Laraqui, Yasmine Hatimi, Saïd Hammouch, Najwa Benchebab, and Selma Sadkane. The evening will culminate with the presentation and awarding of the prestigious Yzza Slaoui Discovery Prize.
