Marrakech Police Crack Down on Online Prostitution
In a significant operation carried out on the evening of July 6, 2026, law enforcement authorities in Marrakech apprehended six women suspected of operating an apartment for prostitution and luring clients through an online platform. The arrests were made by the Urban Security Police Division of the first security zone in Gueliz, a well-known district in Marrakech.
According to security sources, this operation was the result of thorough investigations conducted by the police, which led to the identification and subsequent raid of the apartment located in the Gueliz neighborhood. During the raid, five young women were detained alongside a woman believed to be the intermediary, responsible for managing the operation and attracting clientele.
Initial findings revealed that the suspects utilized the website "Afribaba" to post advertisements and entice clients. A search of the premises resulted in the seizure of various medical condoms and a small quantity of hashish, indicating the illicit activities taking place within the apartment.
All arrested individuals have been placed under preventive custody by order of the competent public prosecutor, pending further investigations to uncover all circumstances and details surrounding the case.
