Marrakech Police Capture Fugitive Wanted for Murder

Marrakech Authorities Apprehend International Fugitive

On Monday, July 13, the police in Marrakech successfully apprehended a 30-year-old individual with Moroccan, French, and Tunisian nationalities. This individual was a fugitive, actively sought under an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities. The arrest took place during a security operation in the city, known for its vibrant culture and history.

Upon identification, law enforcement officials discovered that the suspect was listed in the Interpol database. He was wanted internationally due to a Red Notice issued at the request of the National Central Bureau (BCN) in Paris. This notice was related to a severe criminal conviction of 30 years imprisonment for committing voluntary homicide using a firearm. The gravity of the charges underscores the seriousness of the situation and the international cooperation involved in tracking down fugitives.

Initial reports from the investigation indicate that the suspect is implicated in events dating back to September 2017. He is believed to have deliberately caused the death of an individual using a firearm in a public space within the French commune of Vitry-sur-Seine. Following his arrest, the suspect was placed in police custody, where he will be available for questioning as part of the judicial investigation overseen by the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) and the relevant prosecution.

This legal process aims to interrogate the suspect regarding the criminal offenses he is accused of, based on the formal complaint lodged by French authorities. Given his Moroccan nationality, he will be subject to national legal procedures and investigations in line with applicable international judicial cooperation agreements. The case highlights the importance of cross-border law enforcement collaboration in tackling serious crimes.
