Marrakech Security Forces Conduct Intensive Raids
In the early hours of Sunday, September 20, 2026, the Marrakech security forces launched a comprehensive operation aimed at curbing various illegal activities in the Gueliz area, particularly during nighttime. This initiative was spearheaded by the Field Research Team under the supervision of the area’s security chief and following directives from the Marrakech-Safi security authority. The operation yielded significant results, leading to the apprehension of 18 individuals suspected of public intoxication and 10 others believed to be inciting such behavior. Furthermore, 14 individuals involved in begging, including both adults and minors, were also detained.
Additional arrests included 11 individuals suspected of engaging in unauthorized car guarding activities, as well as two women who were apprehended for allegedly participating in illicit nighttime activities within the area. In a parallel operation by the judicial police of the Gueliz district, two individuals with previous criminal records were caught red-handed on Mohammed V Street while in possession of a plate of hashish intended for distribution.
