Marrakech Police Take Action Against Violent Suspect
In a dramatic turn of events in Marrakech, members of the Royal Gendarmerie were compelled to use their service weapons to neutralize a dangerous suspect on the evening of September 4. This incident unfolded in the region of Ouled Brahim, an area known for its challenges in law enforcement. The suspect, who was already under investigation for various criminal offenses, exhibited violent resistance when cornered by the authorities.
As the law enforcement officers surrounded the suspect, he resorted to unleashing two aggressive pit bull dogs to attack the officers, alongside brandishing a knife in an attempt to evade capture. Faced with an immediate and direct threat to their safety, the gendarmerie made the difficult decision to fire at the suspect. The shots struck him in the thigh, while also injuring the attacking dogs. This decisive action enabled the officers to regain control of the situation, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect and one of his accomplices.
The injured suspect was subsequently transported, under strict security, to the Mohammed VI University Hospital for urgent medical attention. Concurrently, his partner was placed under police custody in accordance with the instructions from the competent prosecutor's office, which aims to delve deeper into the case and clarify all associated charges and circumstances surrounding this alarming incident.
