Marrakech Police Solve Businessman's Murder Case, Arrest Suspects

Marrakech Police Unravel Businessman's Murder Mystery

In a significant breakthrough, the Provincial Police of Marrakech, in collaboration with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, apprehended three suspects aged between 33 and 46 this week. These individuals are believed to be involved in premeditated murder and solicitation for committing the crime, including offering and receiving financial compensation for executing the murder using a caustic substance.

According to a security source, the investigation was initiated following the tragic death of a construction contractor who succumbed to severe burns inflicted with a substance known as 'caustic soda' in the garage of his home in Marrakech on July 7. The police's relentless efforts, supported by technical expertise and field investigations, led to the identification of two key suspects: the person who deliberately poured the caustic material on the victim and another individual who aided in the perpetrator's escape from the crime scene. Both were arrested in Marrakech on July 13, just days after the incident.

Ongoing investigations further led to the arrest of a third suspect in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, in coordination with the police in Martil. This individual is suspected to be the primary instigator behind the crime, determined to have financial disputes with the victim stemming from previous business transactions. These unresolved issues are believed to have been the direct motivation for the heinous act.

The three detained suspects are currently held under police custody, pending further judicial investigation overseen by the competent public prosecutor's office. This inquiry aims to uncover all circumstances surrounding the crime and to establish the true motives behind their actions before they are presented to justice.
