According to informed sources, the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Primary Court of Marrakech has decided today, Monday, to pursue the well-known Facebook activist known as "Abdelilah Mole Al-Hout" under temporary release, contingent upon the payment of a financial bail set at 10,000 dirhams.
This legal action follows an official complaint filed by the management office of the Kawkab Marrakech Football Club, after the concerned individual published a video on social media discussing the outcome of a match between Kawkab Marrakech and Wydad Athletic Club. The club officials interpreted his remarks as containing implications of potential "sporting corruption."
Previously, judicial police had interrogated the suspect based on the directives of the Public Prosecutor's Office, which then decided to charge him while allowing for his temporary release, setting June 3 as the date for the commencement of his trial sessions.
In response to the situation, the management board of Kawkab Marrakech clarified in a prior statement that their resort to legal action aims to protect the club's image and defend its reputation, firmly rejecting any allegations that lack concrete evidence and undermine the integrity of the team.
Conversely, the issue has sparked widespread debate among social media users and club supporters. Some contend that the matter falls within the realm of freedom of expression and sports analysis, while others emphasize the necessity to confront baseless accusations and unfounded skepticism to maintain the credibility of national sports competitions.
