In a remarkable achievement for the Marrakech-Safi region, a total of 12,341 new enterprises were established in 2025, as reported by the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property. The city of Marrakech stands out with an impressive 9,614 new businesses, leading the count among the various provinces, followed closely by the regions of Safi, El Kelâa des Sraghna, and Essaouira.
Sectoral Distribution and Legal Forms of New Businesses
The breakdown of these new enterprises reveals that the commerce sector is at the forefront, accounting for 21.34% of the total, followed by the construction and real estate sector at 24.36%. Additional sectors contributing to this growth include a diverse range of services, hospitality, transportation, manufacturing, information technology, financial activities, agriculture, and fishing. In terms of legal structure, 63.9% of the new enterprises are classified as single-member limited liability companies (SARL à associé unique), with traditional limited liability companies (SARL) and other forms also represented. On a national scale, the establishment of 109,644 enterprises across Morocco underscores a robust entrepreneurial spirit, with Casablanca-Settat leading with 33,959 new enterprises.
