Marrakech-Safi Chamber of Commerce Sets Economic Priorities for the Future

The General Assembly of the Marrakech-Safi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services convened on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Marrakech, under the leadership of Kamal Benkhaled. This regular session brought together chamber members and representatives from various professional sectors to assess the annual performance and outline the economic priorities for the upcoming period.

During this session, the assembly approved the administrative accounts for the year 2025, alongside the proposed budget for 2026, a strategic move aimed at ensuring the financial and institutional continuity of the chamber. Participants presented a detailed report on the activities accomplished over the past year, emphasizing the current year’s operational program that prioritizes support for small and medium-sized enterprises while enhancing the region's investment appeal.

In a bid to foster institutional collaboration, the council ratified several strategic agreements, most notably the contribution to the regional development company “Marrakech Congress and Events” to bolster conference tourism. Furthermore, the establishment of a temporary office for the chamber branch in Safi was approved. Green lights were also given to cooperation agreements with the regional investment center and the regional tourism council of Al-Haouz, aimed at unifying efforts in supporting economic stakeholders.

On the international front, the chamber has expanded its outreach by approving a partnership agreement with the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts, and Agriculture of the Italian city of Palermo. This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to knowledge exchange and solidifying the region’s position as an open economic hub, capable of adapting to international transformations and attracting foreign investments.
