Marrakech to Host the Second Edition of the Economic Forum for Moroccans Worldwide
The Economic Forum for Moroccans Worldwide (FEMM) is scheduled to take place on May 8, 2026, in Marrakech. This significant event aims to foster dialogue, establish tangible partnerships, and promote sustainable, inclusive investments that create value for the Moroccan community abroad. The forum will bring together institutional leaders, private partners, and prominent figures from the Moroccan diaspora to address a central theme: leveraging innovation as a strategic asset for the investment of Moroccans worldwide.
As the global landscape experiences rapid technological advancements and increasing competition for capital, innovation emerges as a critical factor for enhancing the attractiveness, competitiveness, and impact of investments made by Moroccans living abroad. This forum will explore how innovation can serve as a vital conduit for skill transfer, access to global networks, and the dissemination of new economic models. It will feature three panels dedicated to analyzing the challenges and opportunities associated with investments from the Moroccan diaspora.
The first panel will focus on "Productive Investment and Innovation," highlighting the strategic role of Moroccans living abroad in Morocco's economic transformation. The second panel will delve into the mobilization of savings from the diaspora, examining the synergies among crowdfunding, investment funds, and banking financing. The aim is to identify mechanisms that can better structure these savings and channel them toward innovative projects, supported by co-financing arrangements, suitable regulatory frameworks, and enhanced governance.
Finally, the third panel will discuss the role of Moroccans living abroad in regional development, emphasizing their contributions to territorial innovation. This forum aspires to create a platform for dialogue and collaboration among various stakeholders within the ecosystem, aiming to illuminate key issues, stimulate constructive debates, and facilitate concrete partnerships that contribute to sustainable and inclusive investment.
During this second edition, the Economic Forum for Moroccans Worldwide will also introduce the MDM Business Awards, recognizing companies established in Morocco by members of the diaspora or those that have extended their operations into Morocco. These awards will celebrate audacity, innovation, and economic dynamism, with three distinctions being presented: the Innovation Trophy, honoring the most transformative projects and businesses; the Investment Trophy, recognizing initiatives that strengthen the Moroccan economy through substantial investments; and the Economic Impact Trophy, highlighting companies that generate tangible effects on employment, growth, and territorial development.
