Marrakech's Grand Stadium Transformation
The National Agency for Public Equipment (ANEP) has officially initiated a monumental bid for the restructuring of the Grand Stadium of Marrakech. This extensive modernization project aims to elevate the facility to meet the rigorous standards set forth by FIFA, ensuring that it is equipped to host international events with the highest level of quality and safety.
With an estimated budget exceeding 883.2 million dirhams, this initial major phase of construction is slated for completion within a fifteen-month timeline. The project encompasses not only the structural work but also all finishing touches, including flooring, carpentry, and painting. At the heart of this architectural transformation is the definitive removal of the athletics track, a significant alteration that will substantially increase the stadium's seating capacity and allow it to cater to a larger audience for football events.
The ambitious project is being designed by architect Sad Benkirane, with technical oversight and engineering provided jointly by Egis Group and Luseo France. In addition, the firm Socotec will be responsible for the rigorous control of the construction works. Companies interested in bidding for this project are required to attend a site visit scheduled for June 1, 2026, with the bidding process concluding shortly thereafter on June 8, when the proposals will be opened.
