A significant fire broke out on Monday evening at a workshop specializing in car repairs and painting, located in the industrial area of Sidi Ghanem, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Menara district in Marrakech. The incident has resulted in substantial material losses.
According to informed sources, the blaze ignited unexpectedly in an adjacent empty space that had been used for dumping waste. The flames quickly spread, prompting nearby shop owners to intervene and assist in removing vehicles from the workshop, along with flammable equipment, to prevent the situation from worsening.
The incident triggered a swift response from both the local police and civil protection units, who arrived on the scene. Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control and extinguish the fire, fortunately without any reported loss of life.
In parallel, an investigation has been initiated to uncover the circumstances surrounding the fire, with preliminary data suggesting that it may have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
