A catastrophic fire erupted in one of the markets at the edge of Moulay Idriss in Fez during the late hours of Monday into Tuesday, September 15, 2026. The inferno caused substantial material damages, instilling fear and panic among local residents. Witnesses reported that the blaze resulted in significant losses for some residents, with one victim lamenting the destruction of her belongings, stating, "Everything is gone. My mattress, my money, and my jewelry—I've lost everything."
