Renowned billionaire Mark Mateschitz, heir to the Red Bull empire, and celebrated heirloom jeweler Victoria Swarovski are poised to participate once again in the grueling Rallye du Maroc, a significant preparatory event leading up to the legendary Dakar Rally set for January 2027. Their involvement in this challenging motorsport event, which takes place from September 28 to October 3, 2026, is anticipated with great interest, especially given the couple's previous commendable performance last year. To maintain a degree of anonymity, they will compete under pseudonyms. Mateschitz, racing as "Mark Mustermann," will pilot a formidable 400-horsepower Ford Raptor, while Swarovski will drive a powerful Toyota Hilux, also boasting 400 horsepower, in the top-tier T1 class.
Challenges Ahead for the Dakar Rally 2027
The upcoming Dakar Rally is currently under scrutiny due to escalating geopolitical tensions, particularly stemming from recent attacks by Houthi rebels in the region.
