Impressive Participation in Blood Donation Efforts
The recent blood donation campaigns conducted at various mosques across the city of Meknes have yielded significant results, with a total of 1,488 individuals participating. This figure includes 1,035 men and 453 women, reflecting a strong commitment from the community towards this vital humanitarian initiative. Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, specifically in the year 1447 AH, these blood drives were organized under the supervision of the administrative unit of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Advancement of Social Work for Religious Officials, in collaboration with the local scientific council, the regional delegation for Islamic affairs, health ministry officials, and specialized agencies.
The mosques in Meknes recorded the highest number of donors, with 1,488 individuals contributing to this noble cause. In contrast, only 73 donors were registered at mobile donation units, indicating the overall success of the campaign, which spanned 29 days primarily within the mosques. Notably, the Abu Aam Mosque led the list with 152 donors on March 14, followed by the Al-Salihin Mosque with 92 donors on February 26, and the Al-Tawfiq Mosque with 79 donors on February 21, 2026.
These campaigns are part of a national initiative led by the Moroccan Blood Agency and its derivatives in the Fez-Meknes region, in partnership with civil society organizations. A total of 24 field campaigns were organized across various mosques and neighborhoods, supplemented by mobile units that helped expand the reach of the program. These collaborative efforts have notably enhanced the regional blood supply, particularly in light of the increasing demand for blood transport services.
