Meknes Gears Up for the 15th Television Drama Festival Under Royal Patronage

Under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the city of Meknes is set to host the 15th edition of the Meknes Television Drama Festival. This highly anticipated event, organized by the Free Display Association, will take place from April 3 to April 7, 2026. The festival promises to be a vibrant celebration of Moroccan television drama, drawing attention from audiences and artists alike.

The festival will be held at the Mohammed Menouni Cultural Center and is made possible through partnerships with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication, the Fes-Meknes Regional Council, the Meknes Prefectural Council, and the City of Meknes. Furthermore, collaboration with the National Radio and Television Company and Channel Two underscores a shared commitment to ensuring the success of this significant cultural event.

This year's festival will feature tributes to prominent figures in the arts, including the talented actress Thuraya Al-Alawi and actor Mohammed Kafi. Additionally, there will be a special recognition for producer Khaled Al-Naqri, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to enriching the national drama scene.

In line with its mission to support training and share expertise, the festival will also host a masterclass on screenplay writing, led by screenwriter Abdelilah Hamdouchi. This initiative aims to sharpen the skills of young talents and enhance their creative abilities in dramatic writing.

The festival's management has outlined a rich and diverse program, which includes open meetings with participating artists from the scheduled television productions. This unique opportunity allows the audience to gain insights into the behind-the-scenes aspects of national productions and their artistic details, fostering communication bridges between creators and followers.

The Meknes Television Drama Festival continues to solidify its position as one of the foremost cultural events in the country, celebrating the finest and latest Moroccan dramatic productions. It provides a platform for artistic dialogue and promotes the cultural richness of Morocco.
