Minor Hotels Makes Its Debut in Morocco with Anantara Retreat in Rabat

The Moroccan capital is set to welcome the Anantara Retreat Rabat, a luxurious hotel anticipated to open its doors in early 2030. This establishment will mark the inaugural entry of the international hotel group Minor Hotels into Morocco. The announcement regarding the signing of the agreement was made on October 12, 2026.

This ambitious project will introduce the esteemed Anantara luxury brand to Morocco, developed in collaboration with Bloom Holding, a property development company based in Abu Dhabi. Bloom Holding's portfolio includes residential projects, hotels, educational institutions, and planned communities across the UAE and internationally.

Strategically located in the diplomatic district of Rabat, approximately 20 minutes from the city center, this hotel will feature 38 rooms that beautifully blend traditional Moroccan architecture with contemporary design. Accommodations will consist of luxurious rooms, suites, and seven three-bedroom villas, catering to high-end diplomatic, business, and leisure travelers.

Guests will enjoy a range of facilities, including a signature restaurant, a Moroccan tea lounge, a swimming pool, meeting rooms, an Anantara spa, and fitness amenities. "Morocco represents a particularly promising new market for Minor Hotels, and Rabat offers a compelling setting for our first hotel in the country," said William E. Heinecke, the president and founder of Minor International, the parent company of Minor Hotels. He emphasized that the goal is to create "a very intimate retreat that reflects the character of Rabat."

Minor Hotels has highlighted the increasing cultural and tourism appeal of Rabat, especially with its designation as the UNESCO World Book Capital for 2026, along with its rich heritage and prime location between the Atlantic Ocean and the Bouregreg River. The group also noted a 7% increase in international tourist arrivals to Morocco during the first five months of 2026, alongside the introduction of new international air links enhancing access to Rabat.
