Misappropriation of Public Funds Uncovered in Marrakech Social Association

Recent investigations have unveiled serious allegations regarding the misappropriation of public funds by the Social Works Association of Marrakech Employees, located in the Al-Haouz neighborhood. The association has reportedly engaged in the illegal exploitation of drinking water supplied to the Al-Amna daycare center, situated on Iqbal Street in Unit Five. This exploitation involved the unauthorized connection to the water supply of the daycare center, which has been used to provide water to various facilities within the association.

The repercussions of this scandal have reached the attention of Khalid Lahbil, the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, who promptly dispatched a team from the regional multi-service company to conduct an on-site investigation. During their assessment, the team confirmed instances of water theft from the daycare center, with the water being diverted to several association facilities, including a café rented out to a private entity and a wedding hall, alongside the association's social headquarters.

In light of the report submitted to the Wali of Marrakech-Safi, it is anticipated that stringent measures will be taken, especially considering the documentation available to our publication. These documents reveal substantial amounts related to the water consumption bills of the daycare, which are burdensome for the municipal council that is responsible for settling these charges, while others benefit unjustly from this situation.

We will provide further details in the future concerning numerous irregularities within the Social Works Association of Marrakech Employees, which is overseen by a collective trust and a retired employee.
