The Moroccan Royal Armed Forces captivated attendees at the Marrakech International Air Show with an impressive display of their military aircraft. The exhibition area dedicated to these robust fighter jets became a focal point of attraction, drawing large crowds eager to explore the latest advancements in military aviation technology. Visitors were met with enthusiasm as they engaged with pilots who provided in-depth explanations about the operational capabilities and features of these state-of-the-art aircraft.

Highlighting Cutting-Edge Fighter Jets

Among the aircraft showcased were the C-295 transport aircraft and the Apache helicopter, alongside three remarkable fighter jets. The first of these was the French-made Mirage F-1, equipped with a multi-mode radar and a laser targeting system. This versatile multi-role fighter can carry out air defense, air-to-air combat, and ground support missions, along with enforcing no-fly zones. It boasts an impressive speed powered by a 6,380 decanewton engine and can carry a diverse arsenal that includes laser-guided bombs, conventional bombs, and the AASM air-to-ground missile, as well as short-range infrared missiles and medium-range air-to-air missiles, all complemented by twin 30-millimeter cannons.

Additionally, the Moroccan Air Force presented the American-made F-16C Block 52 Plus, a fighter jet designed for air interception, ground attack, aerial reconnaissance, and offensive and defensive air control operations. This advanced fighter is also capable of neutralizing enemy air defense systems and providing tactical naval support. It can be outfitted with a variety of weapons depending on the mission, including smart bombs and short to medium-range air-to-air missiles. With a range of 3,900 kilometers and weighing approximately 8,750 kilograms, its dimensions include a length of over 15 meters and a height of five meters. The F-16C is equipped with advanced multi-mode radar, night vision systems, aerial refueling capabilities, and a helmet-mounted display for targeting, along with the electronic warfare system ANL/ALQ187 and cutting-edge flight and navigation systems.

The Royal Armed Forces' exhibition also featured the F-16D Block 52 Plus, the most advanced variant in the Falcon family of multi-role fighters. This aircraft possesses an integrated electronic warfare system and exceptional maneuverability, ensuring air superiority in combat. Its advanced radar allows for target tracking at long distances and high-resolution ground mapping, making it a formidable platform for conducting complex missions, both day and night, in various weather conditions.

Lastly, the Moroccan military showcased the F-5 Tiger III, designed for target designation, air interception, and airspace protection missions. This agile fighter is equipped with electronic countermeasure systems, an integrated navigation system, and advanced radar. It can carry laser-guided bombs and conventional munitions for ground attack missions, along with short-range AIM-9M infrared missiles for air interception, and features dual 20-millimeter cannons.
