In a bizarre series of events in Ceuta, Spain, a Moroccan man was ordered to be deported after he unlawfully entered a fifth-floor apartment and startled a sleeping woman by lying down next to her. The incident occurred on Paseo de las Palmeras, where the 62-year-old woman, identified as Beatriz Ferron, was peacefully sleeping when the man climbed through her balcony from an adjacent abandoned building. Initially mistaking the intruder for her partner, Ferron quickly realized the alarming truth upon waking and began to scream for help.
The commotion drew the attention of her husband and son, who rushed to her aid. Meanwhile, the intruder attempted to flee by escaping through the balcony and navigating across the rooftops of neighboring buildings. However, his evasion was short-lived as police apprehended him just minutes later.
Legal Consequences and Background
Following the incident, the case was handled through an expedited legal process. The man pleaded guilty to the charges and originally faced a two-year prison sentence. However, the court opted to replace the prison term with immediate deportation from Spain, coupled with a five-year prohibition on re-entering the country. Additionally, the ruling included a five-year restraining order against contacting the victim.
Reports indicate that this individual had a troubling history, having been previously convicted three times for sexual violence in Spain. Prior to this incident, a court in Valencia had already issued an administrative order for his deportation.
