Moroccan Referee Makes Debut in Germany's First World Cup Match Against Curaçao

In an exciting development for the FIFA World Cup, the inaugural match for the German national team will be officiated by Moroccan referee Jalal Jayed. This match is scheduled to take place in Houston on Sunday at 19:00 CEST and will see Germany, known as the DFB-Elf, facing off against the Caribbean nation of Curaçao. At 39 years of age, Jayed is set to make his World Cup debut, having been appointed by FIFA for this significant event. He will be supported on the sidelines by fellow Moroccan officials Zakaria Brinsi and Mostafa Akarkad, while South Africa's Abongile Tom will serve as the fourth official.

Germany enters this match as the clear favorite, given their historical prowess in international football, especially when matched against a relatively smaller football nation like Curaçao. The Germans are also competing in Group E, which includes the Ivory Coast and Ecuador as additional challengers.

It is worth noting that German referee Felix Zwayer will not be officiating during the opening weekend of the World Cup taking place across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
