Extreme Weather Conditions Predicted in Morocco
Morocco is set to experience a significant weather shift this weekend as the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) has issued a warning regarding soaring temperatures and potential thunderstorms across various regions. The forecast indicates that temperatures will spike between 36°C and 40°C on Saturday and Sunday, particularly affecting provinces such as Taroudant, Oued Ed-Dahab, Es-Semara, Boujdour, Laayoune, and Aousserd. Residents are encouraged to take precautions to safeguard themselves from the intense heat.
Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall Expected
In addition to the blistering heat, thunderstorms accompanied by strong gusts of wind and the possibility of hail are anticipated. The DGM warns that between noon and 11 p.m. on October 3, locations including Tinghir, Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taza, Driouch, Taourirt, Azilal, Ifrane, and Nador could see rainfall amounts reaching between 20 to 30 mm. This combination of extreme heat and severe weather conditions poses a risk, and residents should remain vigilant and stay informed about the evolving weather situation.
