Morocco Dominates Tennis at the Continental Level
Morocco has once again made its mark in the world of tennis by securing the African Nations Cup for the eighth consecutive time. This remarkable achievement was recognized by the African Tennis Confederation and is attributed to the stellar performances of the Moroccan national teams across various age categories throughout the current season. The Royal Moroccan Tennis Federation announced that this honor reflects the consistent success and dedication demonstrated by the national teams in continental competitions, including both individual championships and team events.
In the closing stages of the season, the Moroccan under-14 national team participated in the Arab Under-14 Tennis Championship held in Tunisia from August 16 to 23, 2026. The team excelled, winning three out of four titles available in both singles and team competitions. In the boys' singles category, three Moroccan players made it to the semi-finals: Slimane Jamji, Adam Samihi, and Nasser Mowafak. The final match was an all-Moroccan affair, culminating in Slimane Jamji defeating his compatriot Adam Samihi to claim the title of Arab Champion in the under-14 category. Adam Samihi's commendable performance secured him a spot as the runner-up.
On the girls' side, Yaqout El Ghafouli emerged victorious, clinching the title of Arab Champion in the under-14 category after defeating Tunisian player Mariam Miladi in the final. Moreover, in the team competitions, the trio of Slimane Jamji, Nasser Mowafak, and Adam Samihi secured the title of Arab Champions in the boys' under-14 team event. Meanwhile, the Moroccan women's team, composed of Lilia Jalloul, Jumana Al-Wazani, and Yaqout El Ghafouli, finished as runners-up to the Arab Champions.
