Celebrating Dance: The Morocco Dance Competition 2026
The Morocco Dance Competition, supported by the Academy Foundation of the Kingdom of Morocco for the fourth consecutive year, invites dancers aged 8 to 25 residing in Morocco, regardless of nationality, to participate in an exciting celebration of dance. This prestigious competition offers participants the opportunity to showcase their skills across a variety of dance styles, including classical ballet, contemporary dance, urban styles, and free creations. In the previous edition, over 200 candidates took part, with 45 talented Moroccan dancers being recognized for their artistic commitment and exceptional abilities.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the Morocco Dance Competition aims to support the artistic progression of its participants. Each dancer will receive personalized feedback from the jury, designed as an educational tool to foster the development of young talents in the dance community. This initiative not only highlights the achievements of dancers but also emphasizes their growth and learning throughout the competition process.
Esteemed Jury and Engaging Workshops
This year, the competition will feature an international jury composed of renowned dancers and choreographers. Leading the jury is Jean-Marc Thill, a former soloist celebrated for his performances with prestigious companies such as the Berlin State Opera Ballet, Béjart Ballet Lausanne, and the Rhine Opera Ballet. He will be joined by notable figures including Mounir Makhloufi, a prominent figure in French hip-hop and founder of the Rage2danse company, as well as the talented Spanish choreographer Olivia Escribano Mendieta. Their expertise will ensure the highest standards of evaluation for the participants.
In addition to the competition, free workshops will be offered to the public, led by both national and international professionals. These workshops are designed to provide participants and dance enthusiasts with the opportunity to explore various choreographic approaches and engage in meaningful exchanges with established artists. Through this fifth edition of the competition, the Tenor Foundation for Culture aims to solidify the Morocco Dance Competition as a true catalyst for the younger generation of dancers and an essential event within Morocco's cultural landscape.
Registration for the competition has been extended until March 12th and can be completed online via the official competition website.
