In a remarkable ascent within the global reputation rankings, Morocco has secured its position as the most reputable regional leader in Africa and the Arab world, as highlighted in the latest RepCore Nations ranking for 2026. With an impressive overall ranking of 27th among 74 nations, Morocco has climbed three spots since 2025. This significant improvement is attributed to enhanced indicators in technology perception, public resource management, and international sports performance, as noted by analysts from Reputation Lab.
In the regional context, Morocco surpasses several key players, including Egypt at 38th, the United Arab Emirates at 40th, Kuwait at 44th, Saudi Arabia at 51st, and Algeria at 52nd. By moving from 30th to 27th globally, Morocco has now established itself as the most reputable nation in both Africa and the Arab world, a status derived from an extensive data collection involving 124,014 evaluations across 36 countries.
Furthermore, the report indicates that even a single point increase in a country's reputation can correspond to an average increase of 7.2% in tourism revenue and a 1% rise in foreign direct investment (FDI). In Morocco's case, the tourism sector has observed a substantial growth of 15.9% during the first half of 2026, with travel receipts reaching 64.89 billion dirhams. Concurrently, the net flow of FDI has shown a positive trend, rising by 31.5% to 26.161 billion dirhams.
A Resilient Performance Amid Global Challenges
The methodology employed by RepCore Nations is comprehensive, incorporating 22 criteria that encompass economic, political, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions. It also evaluates the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and public opinion from G7 countries, including Germany, Canada, the United States, France, Italy, Japan, and the United Kingdom. This multifaceted approach allows for a nuanced assessment of the factors influencing a country's image abroad, indicating the level of trust it can inspire.
Morocco's impressive performance and positive trajectory stand in stark contrast to a generally unfavorable global trend, underscoring the country's resilience. At the top of the global ranking, Japan has also made significant strides, moving up seven places within a year. Following Japan are Canada in second place, Switzerland in third, Australia in fourth, and Denmark in fifth. The top ten is rounded out by Norway, Italy, Finland, New Zealand, and Sweden.
Among the 60 economies evaluated, 43 experienced a decline in their reputation compared to 2025, while only 14 made gains, and merely three remained stable, reflecting Morocco's unique position in a challenging global landscape.
