Morocco's Medical Association Unveils Digital Platform to Streamline Administrative Processes
In a significant advancement for healthcare professionals, Morocco's National Council of the Medical Association, known as CNOM, has launched an innovative digital platform designed to simplify and expedite essential administrative procedures for the nation’s 35,000 doctors. This initiative, which went live on August 6, allows physicians across all 12 regional councils in Morocco to handle various key professional formalities online, thereby reducing the necessity for in-person visits to regional medical councils. The platform encompasses a range of services, including registration with the Medical Association, transfer of registration between councils, updating professional status or address, and declaring the cessation of medical practice. Furthermore, it facilitates the payment of associated fees via bank transfer, with the necessary banking details conveniently provided on the platform itself.
This digital transformation is grounded in the framework of Decree No. 2-15-447, enacted on March 16, 2016, which complements Law No. 131-13 that establishes the regulations for medical practice in Morocco. This law, enacted in February 2015, delineates the standards required for medical practitioners and organizes the structure of the Medical Association. Additionally, the platform adheres to Law No. 09-08 concerning the protection of personal data, ensuring that it operates under the oversight of Morocco's National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP).
